(Hint: It Might Not Be Instagram)
Let me share something with you, Instagram is a beautiful space. The reels, the graphics, the grid aesthetic… it’s kind of addictive. But I’m going to say something a little spicy:
👉 Just because you’re showing up there doesn’t mean your dream clients are.
If you’ve been putting your heart into creating content, but not seeing engagement, DMs, or actual client inquiries, it might be time to ask yourself one of the most important questions in your business:
Where are my people actually hanging out online?
Because you showing up isn’t enough.
You need to be showing up in the right place, in the right way, for the right people.
Let’s dig in…

Why Instagram Isn’t Always the Answer
Most wellness entrepreneurs default to Instagram because it feels like “the place to be.” But here’s the truth:
- Your yoga teacher trainings might be filled faster on Facebook.
- Your high-level healing container might get better traction on LinkedIn.
- Your younger fans might be binging nervous system content on TikTok.
- Your passive income offer might land more easily through YouTube or Insight Timer.
The point? Different audiences hang out in different digital neighborhoods.
If you’re not where your people are, it’s like holding a retreat… and forgetting to tell anyone the address. 😅
Check In: Who Is Your Audience… Really?
Before you go jumping platforms, let’s take a pause.
Ask yourself:
- Who do I really want to serve in 2025?
- What is this person struggling with on a daily basis?
- Where do they go to look for inspiration, support, or healing?
I walk my 1:1 clients and mastermind clients through this exact niche refinement process, because most of them come in thinking they know their audience, but once we peel back the layers, it becomes so much clearer.
Your niche evolves. Your audience shifts. Your platform strategy should too.
How to Find Out Where They’re Hanging Out
Try these aligned, non-techy ways to do some research:
- Ask your current students where they spend their time online.
- Look at similar creators in your space—where are they most engaged?
- Check your own content analytics. Where are people actually coming from?
- Observe where you feel ease + engagement. Sometimes your clients mirror your own behavior.
For example, if you’re a healer who deeply values calm, grounded presence—you might find your community engaging more on platforms that support longer-form, thoughtful content… not just trendy videos.

Don’t Be Everywhere—Be Strategic
Spreading yourself thin across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and a blog? That’s a fast track to burnout.
Here’s what I recommend to my mentorship clients:
- Choose one main platform for nurturing (like IG or email).
- Choose one visibility strategy for growth (like podcasting or collabs).
- Choose one passive income channel (like Insight Timer or a self-paced course platform).
This clarity allows you to actually track what’s working and spend your time where it matters.
